Police officer linked to violent robberies arrested

According to a police incident report filed at Bondo Police Station, Police Constable Mark Owino was apprehended on Saturday at Holo Police Station at around 7:40 pm.
His arrest follows investigations into a robbery with violence incident reported at Lwala Kotiende Police Station on February 4, 2026, at 3:40 am.
The robbery with violence incident took place at Ajigo trading center where armed robbers were captured by CCTV cameras while harassing a trader, stole from him before taking off on a motorcycle.
Authorities confirmed that Owino is currently in custody and will assist with investigations, including an identification parade. He is expected to be arraigned in Bondo Law court tomorrow February 9, 2026.
The case is being handled by the Sub-County Criminal Investigations Officer in Bondo.
