Fans of English Premier League giants,
Arsenal FC, from different parts of Kenya, gathered Saturday at Ngong Hills to
celebrate the club’s League title victory, which ended a 22-year wait for the
league glory.
The Gunners were confirmed champions of the coveted English league on Tuesday after Bournemouth held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw, handing the Gunners the gong on 82 points.
And on Saturday, they came together to celebrate the milestone.
Dressed in Arsenal jerseys they waved
flags, sang club chants and held a colourful meet-up as they marked the
historic achievement.
Fans termed the victory as a “special moment” saying they had waited for years to witness the club reclaim the league title since the famous 2003/2004 unbeaten season.
The celebrations also highlighted
the growing football fan culture in Kenya with supporters from different areas
turning up to share in the excitement.
