A section of clerics from Nandi County have called on the government to pay teachers their dues for marking last year’s national examination.
This comes after teachers threatened to boycott marking and administration of this year’s exams.
Led by the Bishop of Orthodox church Eldoret and northern Kenya Diocese Neophitus Kong’ai, the clergy lamented about the delay of payment of teachers.
Speaking at Holy resurrection church during the marking of new year calendar for the Orthodox church, Kongai said that government should prioritize on examination through its budget to avoid unnecessary crises.
