In the post, Pinto said he had reached a breaking point after repeatedly offering his services without proper compensation.
He went on to list several engagements, including rallies in Kisumu, Migori and Narok, as well as meetings in Nairobi and Bondo, for which he claims his rightful dues were not settled.
According to Pinto, some events saw him receive only Ksh.7,000 as transport, while others were not paid at all.
He questioned how long the situation would continue, asking, “How much is enough?"
According to the DJ, a fundraiser at Nyanza Golf Club, an aspirants' meeting at Royal Switz Hotel, an event at Kang'o ka Jaramogi and a Kisumu Wabiro Mega Rally all saw him walk home without a penny.
Earlier, the DJ had expressed frustration that the ODM Party Linda Ground brigade had yet to pay him after five days of non-stop mobilisation work for the Kisumu Wabiro event.
After the post went viral, Lang’ata Member of Parliament and entertainer Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang'o, stepped in, promising to follow up on the matter.
The first-time lawmaker responded in the comments section, describing the situation as unacceptable and seeking to establish who was responsible.
“Kindly text me your number, as an artist this is not acceptable. I’ll follow up immediately. Who have you been dealing with or who contracts you?” the MP wrote.
Before Jalang'o's comment, the DJ had personally called out the legislator, demanding to have an audience, and accusing the former comedian of ignoring phone calls and frustrating his efforts to get paid.
He wrote: "Good morning. It's not right at all. Mweshimiwa Jalas please shika simu zangu. After the rally have been trying to reach out to you and it seams you are too busy to communicate. Please boss., PAY ME. I have a big family to take care of. I have my siblings who needs school fees. I have my bills to sort out. Acheni hii ushenzi na upuzi mnafanya. After you have been entertained kulipa Djs inakuanga ngumu kwenyu kwa nini?"
The saga has drawn online reactions, with users expressing support for Pinto Cahill and calling for the timely payment of creatives involved in political events.
Some pointed to the need for proper contracts, while others criticised the situation, questioning how large-scale rallies can handle complex financial logistics yet allegedly fail to compensate entertainers.
"They should pay you bwana, how can they hire all those buses and cannot pay for entertainment? No, enough is enough,” wrote Facebook user Joseph Ngatai.
ODM, specifically the Linda Ground faction, introduced DJ Pinto Cahill as one of their new DJs during a Kisumu East Linda Ground rally.
ODM acting Secretary-General Catherine Omanyo introduced Pinto following the defection of the party’s longtime DJ, Spider, to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s faction.
In a social media post marked by a declaration, “Tuko na DJ (We have a DJ)”, Omanyo confirmed the party’s refreshed entertainment lineup for upcoming rallies and events.
The message was accompanied by images of the new DJ standing beside equipment, signalling ODM’s readiness to maintain its grassroots appeal.
Pinto made his debut during a Kisumu East Linda Ground rally, where he performed alongside DJ Ibra and Rasta.
