Pauline Njoroge resigns from Jubilee Party to join Linda Mwananchi

Njoroge, who was appointed to the party's National Executive Council (NEC) board in May 2023, said in a statement on Tuesday that the move was prompted by her conviction to support Linda Mwananchi's core goals of agitating for a change in leadership that is anchored in integrity and constitutionalism.

"Since February this year, I have had the privilege of being part of the Linda Mwananchi movement. Over the months, my conviction has only grown stronger that this movement represents an important platform for advancing the aspirations of our generation: a Kenya founded on good governance, the rule of law, constitutionalism, accountability and servant leadership," she said.

She said that the Linda Mwananchi faction, pioneered by top political mavens among them Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Siaya Governor James Orengo and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, is the conduit of the change that Kenya requires and she will remain committed to the same course.

"As one chapter closes, another begins. I step into it with optimism, renewed purpose and an unwavering belief that Kenya deserves leadership that listens, unites and puts citizens first," she noted.

The communication strategist has worked with Jubilee Party leader and former president Uhuru Kenyatta since 2012 when the premier led The National Alliance (TNA) party.

TNA later merged with President William Ruto's United Republican Party (URP) to form Jubilee.

She thanked Mr. Kenyatta for tutoring her on governance and leadership, stating that her sharpened expertise will help her advance her next political aspirations.

"Beyond the opportunities he gave me here at home, he also exposed me to leadership and governance experiences across Africa and internationally, broadening both my perspective and my understanding of public service," she noted.

"For someone deeply passionate about politics and strategic communications, these fourteen years have been nothing short of transformational."

Linda Mwananchi has been conducting nationwide political tours in a bid to woo support for their team, however forced to face hostility from youth groups alleged to have been sponsored by political rivals.

They have been deemed to be a formidable force in the country amid a rising national agitation for a change in the national guard, as support for President Ruto's administration hangs in the balance ahead of the 2027 General Election.
