The tournament, sponsored by Shabiki.com, continued its journey towards becoming one of Kenya’s premier Inter Club golf competitions. The Patron’s Cup also honours the legacy of the late President Mwai Kibaki, a former patron of Muthaiga Golf Club and an avid golfer.
Throughout the weekend, golfers battled the challenging Muthaiga course, with accuracy, course management, consistency and composure proving crucial. Every stroke counted as players pushed to finish strongly across the different categories.
A major highlight of the tournament was the Patron’s Jackpot by Shabiki.com, which added an extra layer of excitement to the competition. Participants had to take part in the designated golf challenge and successfully meet the set requirements which was to correctly predict the outcome of the select fifteen golf matches and stake with ksh 1000, with precision and execution being key to unlocking the Ksh 1,000,000 cash prize.
The Tournament produced two major winners, with each having a bite of KSh 1 million. Their wins became one of the weekend’s biggest talking points and added a memorable finish to an already competitive tournament.
Beyond the competition, the Patron’s Cup provided an opportunity for golfers, patrons, partners and guests to network and celebrate the sport. The atmosphere around Muthaiga reflected the social and competitive spirit that continues to make golf a growing part of Kenya’s sporting calendar.Muthaiga Golf Club established a strong lead from the opening stages, putting themselves in a commanding position as the competition progressed. However, it was during the singles rounds that the intensity truly increased, with players battling for every point and the margins becoming increasingly important.
One of Muthaiga’s standout performers was J. Sachu, who produced an impressive individual performance, securing two wins from two matches and helping strengthen the hosts’ position in the competition.
Muthaiga ultimately completed a dominant campaign, winning all their matches and finishing top with 125 points. Their consistency across the tournament proved decisive as they maintained their advantage when the pressure was at its highest.
Vetlab Golf Club finished second with 83 points, while Kenya Railways Golf Club secured third place with 49 points.
Muthaiga Golf Club Chairman Mr. Mwirigi expressed appreciation for Shabiki’s continued support of the tournament, while Shabiki’s Chief Operating Officer Wako Abdi highlighted the importance of supporting sporting events that bring communities together and create memorable experiences.
