More than 300 exhibitors drawn from 45 countries are set to converge on Nairobi for the 27th edition of Buildexpo Kenya 2026, East Africa's premier international trade exhibition for the building and construction industry.

The four-day event, expected to showcase cutting-edge technologies and strengthen regional trade and investment, will be held at the Carnivore Exhibition Grounds in Nairobi.

Organisers say the exhibition will attract thousands of industry stakeholders, among them contractors, architects, engineers, developers, manufacturers, distributors, investors and policymakers from across Africa and beyond.

Countries that have confirmed participation include India, China, Germany, Turkey, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan (ROC), South Africa and Egypt.

According to the organisers, the exhibition will bring together leading international companies and innovators keen on introducing advanced products, equipment and technologies aimed at transforming the region's construction industry.

Major exhibitors expected at the event include the Iran Innovation Fund, Onew Investment Company Ltd., Zhong Ze Nice Wood, Carldora Cofragens, Andaimes e Escoramentos, S.A., PL International Holdings Limited, Buffalo TBS Enterprises Co. Limited and Ajax Engineering Pvt. Ltd.

"These companies will showcase the latest technologies, equipment, and solutions designed to drive innovation and accelerate infrastructure development across East Africa," the organisers said in a statement.

The expo will be launched by Joe Mutugu, Chief Executive Officer of the Affordable Housing Board under the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development's State Department for Housing and Urban Development.

It is being held under the patronage of the State Department for Housing and Urban Development and the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry through the State Department for Trade, underscoring government commitment to supporting industrial growth, investment and infrastructure development.

Over the years, Buildexpo Kenya has grown into the largest and most influential platform for the building and construction industry in East Africa, bringing together manufacturers, suppliers, technology providers and decision-makers to explore emerging opportunities and forge strategic partnerships.

The exhibition also enjoys the backing of key government agencies, professional associations and regulatory bodies, including the Kenya Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors (KABCEC), Bilmah Engineering Services Ltd. and the Mining Engineers Society of Kenya (M.E.S.K.).

Organisers say the involvement of these institutions reflects the expo's growing significance as a regional hub for collaboration, innovation and sustainable growth within the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Beyond the main exhibition, visitors will have access to four co-located events dedicated to woodworking, lighting, mining and water technology, an integrated format designed to broaden business opportunities across complementary sectors that play a vital role in infrastructure development.

Organisers noted that this arrangement will allow participants to discover new technologies, exchange ideas, establish valuable business relationships and identify investment opportunities across multiple industries under one roof.

For professionals across the construction value chain, the exhibition promises a chance to stay ahead of industry trends while accessing innovative products and practical solutions designed to improve efficiency and productivity.

Visitors will also benefit from live product demonstrations, face-to-face engagements with manufacturers and suppliers, and networking sessions that could open doors to new commercial partnerships and regional expansion.
