Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga will miss the remainder of the 2025–26 season after undergoing surgery for a pelvic injury, his club Al-Arabi SC has confirmed.

In a medical update, Al-Arabi stated that the striker sustained the injury and underwent successful surgery in Paris, France.

His club, Al Arabi, confirmed that Olunga has undergone surgery.

“Our player, Michael Olunga, suffered a pelvic injury and underwent successful surgery this morning in Paris, France,” the club’s medical report stated.

The club added that Olunga will be sidelined for eight weeks and will follow a rehabilitation program under the supervision of the team’s medical staff.

“The player is expected to be sidelined for eight weeks, during which he will follow a rehabilitation program under the supervision of the club’s medical team.”

The injury effectively rules him out for the rest of the season in the Qatar Stars League. Olunga joined Al-Arabi in July 2025 on a two-year deal and has been a regular starter.

This season, he made 14 league appearances, scoring six goals and providing one assist.
In the QSL Cup, he scored two goals in two matches. Across all domestic competitions, he recorded about nine goals before the injury.

Although his goal return is lower than during his time at Al-Duhail SC, he remains an important player for Al-Arabi.

His absence is a setback for both club and country as he begins his recovery.
