While sharing photos on X (formerly Twitter), the Kibera-born rapper termed the project as a tribute to his father's life, saying that he specifically embarked on the mission in order to preserve his family's rich history.
"Embarking on a poignant journey, we unveil the ancestral museum honoring the legacy of my father. A tribute to his life, this museum stands as a beacon of remembrance and a living archive, preserving our family’s rich history for generations to come," he wrote.
"A place where stories echo and memories breathe, ensuring our children and great-grandchildren connect with their roots."
The museum, located at Siaya County and aptly named after his late father Onyango Ohanga, is now already up and running and visitors have been encouraged to check in at the Ligega Chief's Office for more information and directions on how to access.
It showcases the family history, cultural evolution, and a collection of artifacts, including his late dad's several fashion items.
"For visitors, check in at the Ligega Chiefs Office for more info. Now open for public & Educational institutions," the rapper said.
Over the years, the 'Ivo Ivo' rapper has made clear his deep connection to his roots - ensuring that he keeps his parents' memories alive in his music, art and even on live interviews.
On December 28, Octopizzo and his siblings marked the official opening ceremony. The event held additional sentimental value as it coincided with the 20th anniversary of his parents’ passing.
The museum’s opening also occurred just four days after Octopizzo celebrated his wedding with his Mexican wife.
From the photos shared online, a proud Octopizzo is seen standing next to some of his family members, their faces beaming as if illuminated by their father's eternal light.
By creating a physical space solely dedicated to his father's memory, Octopizzo has instigated a never-been-done before initiative - at least by any Kenyan celebrity.
