Enosh Ochieng’ clinched the 2018/19 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Golden Boot after firing a hat-trick in Ulinzi Stars’ 4-0 demolition of Mount Kenya United on Sunday at Nakuru’s Afraha Stadium.

Neither side had much at stake with Mount Kenya already relegated from the KPL while Ulinzi could achieve no more than a mid-table finish even with victory but Ochieng’ had all to play for in it.

Ochieng began the match-day just one goal adrift the league’s top-scorer Allan Wanga and against a team that has conceded a record 85 goals, the occasion seemed perfectly set up for the Ulinzi marksman to go top.

His three-goal haul thus left him on 20 goals. Oscar Wamalwa scored the other goal for the soldiers after Ochieng had put them ahead in the 15th minute.

He doubled his advantage seven minutes into the restart to go outright top on 19 goals before rounding off with a third eigth minutes later.

The match marked the official end of season for the KPL season with the next campaign set to usher in a new format to mirror the European leagues as directed by world governing FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The clash had been postponed after Mount Kenya showed up to the match with matching kit.
