The students cruised to a 73-55 win over Safe Spaces over the weekend, responding positively to their previous loss against fellow university side Strathmore Swords.
The victory reinforced Aces' impressive campaign, with the side now boasting 11 wins and just two defeats from 13 league matches.
Obilo said he was particularly encouraged by the manner in which his players reacted to the setback, describing it as evidence of their growing mental strength and development.
"I feel like they are slowly getting where we want to go, especially when they're coming from a loss and having them playing the way they played last weekend, it means that they are slowly getting mature because that loss is like it did not affect them, it actually made them better. I'm happy with the progress so far. Everything is taking shape slowly.
Hopefully, we keep them focused like that heading into the remaining games," said Obilo.
The tactician noted that the team's steady improvement is beginning to reflect the work being done in training and believes maintaining focus will be key as the season heads into its decisive phase.
Meanwhile, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) men's head coach Robert Mugabe expressed satisfaction after his side collected two victories in the National Men's Basketball Premier League, although he admitted there is still room for improvement.
The Dockers defeated Strathmore Blades 84-72 before seeing off Umoja 70-60 to complete a perfect weekend and strengthen their position in the standings.
Despite securing maximum points, Mugabe felt his side did not perform to their full potential and challenged his players to continue improving, particularly in defense.
"The defense is improving, but not yet there. We're working to fix our mistakes and get better and ready for the next game also. My team is okay, the performance was not the best, but at least we got the two wins. So far so good, just focusing on how to finish it off in a good note. Our defense is improving," said Mugabe.
With both teams enjoying successful weekends, Obilo and Mugabe will now be looking to build on the positive results as their respective sides continue their push for honours in the national basketball leagues.
