Nzoia
Sugar FC tactician Ibrahim Shikanda is happy after his side registered their
first win of the current campaign against solid Kariobangi Sharks at their Sudi
backyard over the weekend.
A
Levis Okello hat-trick settled the closely fought match and in the process
earned the millers their first win this term.
Shikanda
expressed his delight at bagging maximum points from the match.
However,
the former Bandari assistant coach admitted that the match was far from
comfortable and wants to build on the result going forward.
“Kariobangi
Sharks is a tough opponent enjoying some good run in the league, bagging
maximum points against such a side is not a walk in the park.
As
you know we have been waiting for such a result to ignite us, and we want to
build on that going forward,” he told Citizen
Digital.
Nzoia
have been on a torrid downward spiral as they have recorded five defeats, three
draws and a win (W1, D3, L5), under the watch of seasoned tactician Ibrahim
Shikanda.
The
coach stated that the team has just been unlucky this term but are working to
correct that worrying form.
They
are third from bottom on the log, on six points, after nine matches played.
They
host defending champions Tusker on Saturday in what could be another mouth-watering
clash.
