Nzoia ready for NSL kick-off as Khakina seeks KPL return

Nzoia Sugar assistant captain Obed Khakina is confident the club will make a strong push for promotion to the Kenyan Premier League as they continue preparing for the new National Super League (NSL) season.
‎
‎The former top-flight side has maintained its training program despite uncertainty surrounding the league's commencement, with Khakina admitting that the extended pre-season has tested the team's patience.
‎
‎Speaking to Citizen Digital,Khakina, however, insists that the players and technical bench are ready to begin the campaign, even at short notice.
‎
‎"The pre-season preparations have been long because of the delay in starting the league, but we are ready to begin because according to the federation, action could start soon," said Khakina.
‎
‎The assistant captain has also urged Nzoia Sugar supporters to remain optimistic, promising a different performance from the team compared to previous seasons.
‎
‎Khakina believes the club has what it takes to secure promotion and reclaim its place in the top tier of Kenyan football.
‎
‎" To our fans, sponsors, and well-wishers, I would like to assure you that this is our season. The previous season we had our targets, but we fell short; however, we are ready to fight for our place in the Kenyan Premier League this time around." He added.
‎
‎His confidence comes as Nzoia Sugar seek to rebuild their campaign and return to the top flight, with the team banking on its preparations and determination to achieve that objective.
‎
‎The Bungoma-based side will be hoping to translate its pre-season work into positive results once the NSL campaign gets underway.
