In an advertisement published in the MyGov paper, the exercise will take place from Monday, February 10, to Saturday, February 15.
All candidates seeking to be enlisted must be Kenyan citizens, residents of their respective sub-counties of recruitment and have a KCSE mean grade of D plain and above.
The candidates will also be required to produce an original National ID, Certificate of Good Conduct, get a medical check-up during and after the exercise and be prepared to go through a rigorous training session.
Successful candidates will report for the NYS paramilitary course at the Academy in Gilgil and Naivasha on the dates and times specified in the calling letters to be issued.
NYS will provide special preference to orphans who meet the listed requirements. The same also applies to persons with disability provided they are able to complete the physical training.
"NYS does not condone corruption in any form. Canvassing and giving monetary or other considerations for admission is an offense that may lead to automatic disqualification or prosecution," the notice read in part.
