Nyamira: Locals warned of potential flooding amid heavy rains

Residents in Nyamira County have been urged to take responsibility for the safety of their children amid ongoing heavy rains causing flooding in the region.

Speaking in Nyamira town, County Commissioner Erastus Mbui noted that many children have recently been swept away by floodwaters.

He emphasized the importance of community responsibility in preventing such incidents.

Mbui called on parents and guardians to actively supervise their children.

“Some children have been seen walking alone during the heavy rains in Nyamira town. This is very dangerous, as they can easily be swept away by floods,” he said.

He urged the community to stay vigilant and follow safety measures to protect themselves and others during these adverse weather conditions.
