Kenya Police Bullets chairperson Munga Nyale called for
squad reinforcement ahead of their CAF Women's Champions League CECAFA qualifiers
after clinching the 2025-26 title.
The law enforcers bagged their third successive FKF WPL
title after edging Madira Soccer Assassins 1-0 in their final match of the
season at Police Sacco Stadium on Sunday.
They ended the season with 52 points, eight points above
second-placed Ulinzi Starlets, as Trinity Starlets closed the top three
following an impressive season.
With the domestic title secured, Bullets will now turn their
attention to the CECAFA qualifiers, where they will be looking to book a place
in the CAF Women’s Champions League and continue their impressive rise on the
continental stage.
The CECAFA tourney is scheduled for August 22 to
September 6, 2026, in Kigali, Rwanda.
"First I want to congratulate the girls for the good
fight throughout the season, winning the Women Premier League title for the
third time was not an easy task.
We have now embarked on bolstering our squad ahead of the
CECAFA tournament with an aim to qualify for the first time in the CAF Women's
Champions League.
“We are in talks with some players who will fuel our dream
to take part in the continent's showpiece."
Nyale, however, hailed all their opponents for giving them
tough times in securing the title.
"I also want to congratulate all our opponents who took
part in the just concluded season. They have us fair competition, and that's why
we won.
“The level we have attained now, I don't see losing the title
soon, so they should prepare for a tough task next season."
Kenya Police Bullets have previously finished as runners-up
and second runners-up in their consecutive appearances at the CAF Women’s
Champions League CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers.
In 2024, they put on a spectacular performance, advancing
all the way to the tournament final before ultimately falling 1-0 to the host
Central Bank of Ethiopia (CBE).
Despite missing out on the ultimate trophy, they secured a
highly impressive second-place finish in their debut.
