The duo will be joined by rising star Purity Chepkirui, the former World U20 1500m champion, as they line up against one of the strongest 5,000m fields assembled this season.

The Kenyan trio will face home favourite Nadia Battocletti the Olympic and world silver medallist over 10,000m, and Bahrain’s Olympic champion Winfred Yavi, who will step up from her 3,000m steeplechase trademark

The race will also feature a strong Ethiopian contingent, with ten athletes set to compete.

Among the big guns are Freweyni Hailu, who finished second in Rome last year and who arrives in top form after commanding a 1,500m victory in Rabat, 2025 Diamond Trophy winner Fantaye Belayneh, Medina Eisa, Marta Alemayo, and Likina Amebaw.
