Newly signed Nairobi
City Stars striker Felix Seda has set his sights on guiding the club back to
the Kenyan Premier League following his move from Nzoia Sugar.
The forward believes
City Stars have what it takes to secure promotion, especially now that the
second phase of the National Super League season is underway.
Simba wa Nairobi
ended the first round of the campaign in sixth place, a position Seda feels
gives them a strong platform to mount a serious promotion challenge.
Speaking to Citizen
Digital, Seda noted that with consistency and improved finishing, the team can
climb into the automatic promotion spots.
"It is a step forward;
my target is to help the team earn a promotion back to the league.
“The team has made
notable signings in a bid to strengthen the squad; the gap is not too wide; we
can make it at least among the top four," Seda said.
One of the biggest
hurdles for Nairobi City Stars this season has been their struggles in front of
goal.
The team has been
involved in several goalless draws, dropping valuable points despite solid
performances.
Seda has vowed to
address this problem, confidently stating that he is targeting more than ten
goals by the end of the season to boost the team’s chances.
"My target is to
score at least 10 goals for the team. Looking at the team's statistics, we have
been struggling to score; it is a challenge for us, the strikers, to solve that
issue." He added.
The striker also
reflected on his time at Nzoia Sugar, expressing gratitude to the club’s
supporters for their unwavering support.
As he embarks on a new
chapter with Nairobi City Stars, Seda is determined to repay the faith shown in
him by delivering goals and helping the club achieve promotion back to the top
tier.
