Bandari FC will not effect pay cuts on the payslips of their players despite the Covid-19 pandemic and the prolonged lack of football.

With lack of league action coupled with hostile business climate occasioned by the novel coronavirus there have been fears that the club leadership could effect pay cut.

However Twaha Mbarak, a member of club’s Board of Trustees has  scoffed at such fears instead assuring that no player will suffer such fate.

In March, the KPL was suspended indefinitely after the government banned public gatherings in a bid to combat the spread of the virus.

Said Twaha: “I just want to guarantee my players that they will be paid in full even in this difficult time of Corona pandemic. All this time we have not been playing, every player has been earning as usual and we’ll make sure this is the case even with our other staff.”

Twaha has at the same time called on his players to strictly adhere to safety measures set by the Ministry of Health so as to stem the spread of virus.

The former FKF Vice-Chairman says the measures taken by the government are aimed at protecting the citizenry and for their well-being, hence the need to abide.

“I understand they are eager to get onto the pitch again but the most important thing right now is to make sure they follow the guidelines, we want them to be safe with their families. This should not even be an option,” he cautioned.

Bandari’s last league assignment was at Mbaraki Sports Club on March 7 where they edged out Kariobangi Sharks 1-0.

That match, interestingly marked the end of Twahir Muhiddin stint at the helm as interim boss as the club went on to re-appoint Ken Odhiambo to steady the ship as the former resumed his duties as Technical Director.

Before the league was ended, the FKF Shield Cup champions had  climbed to ninth on the KPL table.
