Nine suspected gangsters arrested in Trans Nzoia

Nine suspected members of a notorious criminal gang have been arrested in Trans Nzoia County.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects were nabbed during an intelligence-led operation targeting criminals in Trans Nzoia West Sub-County. 

The operation was conducted jointly by officers from DCI Headquarters and Kitale Police Station.

Police said the operation focused on Premium and Tuwani areas, which are hotspots that have recently been plagued by gang violence. 

“Acting on credible intelligence, the team swiftly apprehended the suspects, effectively dismantling a group that has been terrorising residents and disrupting public order,” police said.

The suspects are currently in custody, undergoing processing as they await arraignment.
