Night guard killed, two others hospitalised in Nyakach restaurant attack

The attackers, whose number is unknown, were armed with crude weapons. They struck at the Marabou restaurant and locked up the workers who were on duty at the time.

The thugs assaulted and raped one of the female workers and inflicted cut wounds on a male worker. Both are fighting for their lives in hospital.

Upper Nyakach Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) Dawin Orina says the thugs first attacked the night guard with an axe as they gained entry into the premises.

He says the guard was rushed to hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.

Orina says officers from Maraboi Police Post and DCI detectives from Katito have visited the scene and investigations have commenced.

He has appealed to residents to volunteer information to the police to help arrest the suspects.
