The kind of comedy he performs necessitates a high level of self-assurance and a certain amount of brashness.
“What I do has high risks. I meet strangers not knowing who they are or what they do,” he said during an interview with Dr. King’ori on The Wicked Edition.
Nicki claims to have his own backup security, which includes two bouncers and one police officer.
He remembered a dreadful encounter in which a licensed firearm holder pulled a gun on him.
The man toned down after they proved that they were doing a prank on him.
But how does a straight A student become a prankster? Why put your life on the line for a 3–4 minute prank?
Despite being a bright 'A' student, he explained to Dr. Kingori why he chose to be a prank star comedian. Nicki says he enjoys his line of comedy work because it makes him happy. He even does his pranks off camera.
“People don’t appreciate my art as a real job, but it pays my bills and I love what I do.
Nick says that Kenyans have a culture that isn't supportive enough of artists when it comes to the state of the entertainment industry in the country.
“Those who are supposed to support artists: family and friends, ask for free tickets to their shows.”
The comedian continues to add that he has mastered the art of knowing who to prank and who not to, as he has had experience being a prankster for more than 10 years.
