The 2026 Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) Men's Premier League title will be decided on the final day of the season this Sunday, with National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) and Equity Bank locked in a thrilling battle for the championship.

NCPB trails leaders Equity Bank by just one point after 22 rounds of matches. Victory against Daystar University at the Nyayo National Stadium will be enough for NCPB to clinch the title.

However, a draw or defeat will hand Equity Bank their maiden league championship. Equity holds a superior goal difference of 243 compared to NCPB's 226, meaning they will finish top should the teams end level on points.

The title race took another dramatic turn over the weekend after Ulinzi Warriors dealt Equity Bank a major setback with a narrow 26-25 victory on Saturday.

Heading into the match, Equity knew a win would put them firmly in control of the championship race following their crucial victory over fellow title contenders NCPB the previous weekend.

Instead, Ulinzi edged the bankers by a single goal in one of the season's most closely contested matches, temporarily denting Equity's hopes of lifting their first-ever league title.

Equity responded emphatically on Sunday, thrashing Lions 41-25 at the Nyayo Stadium handball court to complete their league campaign on a high and significantly improve their goal difference.

Elsewhere, GSU maintained their impressive end-of-season form with back-to-back victories, defeating Desert Scorpions 35-28 before overcoming Daystar University 34-27.

Desert Scorpions and Kisiwa produced one of the most entertaining matches of the weekend, with the Scorpions edging a thrilling contest 39-38. Earlier, Kisiwa had comfortably beaten Daystar University 37-28.

Several fixtures involving University of Eldoret's Pippers and KU were awarded as walkovers.

Despite Equity's convincing victory over Lions, the destiny of the 2026 KHF Men's Premier League title now lies in NCPB's hands.

The bankers have completed their fixtures and remain top of the standings, but whether they are crowned champions will depend on the outcome of Sunday's final match between NCPB and Daystar University, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Equity has done all they can after bouncing back from the Ulinzi defeat with a dominant final performance.

Their hopes of securing a historic first league title now rest on Daystar University producing one of the season's biggest upsets against title-chasing NCPB.
