The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has summoned former Member of Parliament for Makadara constituency Reuben Ndolo over his disturbing utterances about alleged involvement in sponsoring political violence.

Ndolo boasted, at the Jesus Teaching Ministry church in Donholm on October 18, that he ferried youths for political rivalry in various political forums, including the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s memorial in Migwena grounds, Bondo, Siaya County.

“Tukafanya mkutano na akanituma huko nikaenda mbele nikafanya kila kazi , nikaenda Busia nikachukua vijana wetu huko Busia Luanda pale kwa nyanya yangu nikachukua vijana, Bondo nikachukua vijana, sasa mliona vile mambo iliwaka huko.” Rueben said.

“Kuna wakora wengine area hii walijaribu kumtoa hapa na team yetu akina Aladwa wakaniita tulinyoroshana na hao watu na leo mpaka leo yuko hapa."

NCIC said on Tuesday that Ndolo should appear for grilling on Monday, October 26.

He has been summoned to sections 13, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 56, 59, 60, 61, 62 and 63 of the National Cohesion and Integration Act.

NCIC further maintained he will be allowed to respond, adduce evidence and make any representations he wishes.

“The hearing will constitute your opportunity to be heard before the Commission makes its determination on the material before it,” NCIC said.

The National Cohesion and Integration Act (CAP 7N) has the mandate to promote national unity and harmony by promoting peaceful relations among communities particularly by guarding against negative ethnicity, racism, religious intolerance and hate speech

Ndolo has been warned that failure to appear in person will attract warrants of arrest and production before the Commission, and the institution of criminal and contempt proceedings.
