NCBA Bank is deepening insurance access by embedding protection solutions alongside banking and investment services, enabling customers to protect what they have worked hard to build at every stage of their financial journey.

NCBA's own performance points to the potential of this integrated approach with NCBA Insurance and Bancassurance Gross Written Premiums reaching KSh 2.1 billion and KSh 2.3 billion respectively, with Bancassurance recording 77% year-on-year growth in the first half of 2026.

That momentum is being driven by the deeper integration of insurance services across the banks banking and digital platforms, giving customers seamless access to banking, investment and insurance solutions within a single ecosystem.

“When we look at our customers, their financial needs do not fit neatly into product categories. A customer may come to us today seeking asset finance or working capital, but behind that need is a business, an income stream and wealth that require protection. Our role is to bring protection into the conversation from the outset, so that the wealth our customers build is safeguarded with the same intention and purpose with which it was created,” said Samuel Odhiambo, Managing Director and Principal Officer, NCBA Bancassurance Intermediary Ltd.

The bank urged its customers to integrate insurance into their wealth building journey during the Bancassurance Forum held in Nairobi, which brought together more than 200 retail and corporate customers for an interactive engagement on wealth preservation, succession planning, business continuity and financial security.

"Our goal is to identify and meet our customers' needs within one ecosystem, rather than leaving customers to seek them out separately. We see insurance not as a separate financial decision, but one embedded in a customer's financial journey aligned to their assets, family and business needs," said Stella Njunge Managing Director NCBA Insurance.

Kenya’s insurance penetration remains low at approximately 2.3% of GDP, highlighting the need for a more integrated approach to financial protection. By shifting the insurance conversation from one centred on transactions to one focused on financial wellbeing, NCBA aims to bridge this gap and make protection a more natural and integral part of financial planning.

Through its Ubuntu strategy, NCBA continues to strengthen the foundation for sustainable growth by walking alongside customers at every stage of their journey, while reinforcing its position as a trusted partner in building, preserving and protecting their financial future.
