Nationwide FKF U-15 talent search exercise underway

The exercise is being conducted across different regions by FKF-trained scouts, coaches and technical officers, with the best players expected to progress from the regional level to the national team.

FKF Technical Officer Susan Wanjiru says the federation has already developed selection lists as the exercise continues across the country.

“The selection is underway and we have come up with lists for selection. Each region has its Under-15 selection, and the best players will go to the national level and represent Kenya in two tournaments,” said Wanjiru.

Lead Scout George Ondula says the process is already at the regional level as scouts look for players capable of representing the country at the African championships.

“We are already at the regional level and we are looking forward to getting candidates who will represent us in the Africa championships.”

The exercise is currently being conducted in Nairobi before moving to other regions.

The coach, Jerim Ouma says the entire selection process is expected to take two weeks, with the grassroots approach giving young players an opportunity to be identified and develop their talents.

The selected players will form part of Kenya’s preparations for upcoming international games, including the CAF African Schools Football Championship CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers.
