National Assembly approves House Business Committee members

The National Assembly has finally approved
the House Business Committee, which will be chaired by Speaker Moses Wetangula.
The Committee, established in compliance with
National Assembly Standing Order 171, constitutes 14 members among them the House
Majority Leader (Kimani Ichung’wah) and Minority Leader (Opiyo Wandayi), as
well as both side’s respective Whips, Sylvanus Osoro and Junet Mohamed.
The other members include MPs; Samuel
Chepkonga, Faith Gitau, Umulkher Kassim Sheikh, Robert Mbui, Omboko
Milemba, Adan Keynan, TJ Kajwang,
Sarah Korere and Joshua Mwalyo.
The Committee ought to have been appointed
within 7 days of the 13th Parliament being officially opened by President
William Ruto, but stalled for two weeks due to the majority stand-off in the
House.
Speaker Wetangula convened the first sitting
of the Committee immediately the House approved the members.
