The sentence was handed down by Narok Chief Magistrate Hezron Nyaberi after the prosecution, led by Leone Wandera, presented evidence proving the offence beyond reasonable doubt.
The court heard that the man committed the offence on diverse dates between 2024 and February 2026 at Bulla Kipangas area in Narok Central.
In convicting the accused, the court relied on the testimony of the minor, who identified him as her father and placed him at the scene of the crime.
The evidence was supported by testimonies from four prosecution witnesses, alongside medical reports, a P3 form and treatment notes presented before the court.
While delivering the sentence, Magistrate Nyaberi expressed concern over the accused's betrayal of his parental responsibility, noting that he was expected to protect his daughter rather than subject her to abuse.
The court further observed that the victim was below 11 years at the time of the offence, a factor that informed the sentence under Section 8(2) of the Sexual Offences Act.
The Directorate of Public Prosecutions said the conviction and sentence followed a successful prosecution that relied on the child's testimony and corroborating evidence from other witnesses.
