Nairobi woman fighting for life after sixth-floor fall, family alleges foul play

Police in Kasarani are investigating the circumstances surrounding her fall from Father's Hub Apartment. The victim is admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), where she awaits critical spinal surgery.

While police maintain the matter is still under investigation, the woman's family alleges foul play, pointing to a domestic altercation.

According to the family, whose identity we have concealed, the evening began with the woman partying with her girlfriend inside the sixth-floor apartment in Thome, Kasarani. The night, they say, took a violent turn.

The family alleges that the girlfriend physically assaulted the 25-year-old before the fall.

In a chilling twist, the suspect, said to be a female police officer, reportedly called the victim's father during the assault, threatening to continue the beating. Shortly after that call, the family received news that she had fallen from the building.

Detectives at Kasarani Police Station say the exact circumstances remain unclear. While the family strongly believes she was pushed from the balcony by her partner, who is still at large, conflicting witness accounts suggest she may have jumped.

Investigators say recording the victim's official statement is the crucial next step to resolving the conflicting narratives, but that is yet to happen as she remains under critical medical care at KNH.

Police confirm no arrests have been made. Detectives are working to establish whether the incident was an attempted homicide, a tragic accident or a case of self-harm.

Meanwhile, police at Kilimani are probing a separate incident in which a 26-year-old woman fell from the third floor of an apartment along Dennis Pritt Road.

Officers who visited the scene arrested three people, two men and a woman, who are being held until Tuesday next week pending court directions. The victim in that case remains in the ICU at a city facility as medics work to save her life.
