A 22-year-old Chuka University student was on Friday arraigned at the Chuka High Court and charged with being in possession of bhang.

The suspect, Tobby Gideon Odingo, was nabbed by police with 0.5kg of bhang and valued at Ksh 2,500 in his house at Ndagani.

Odingo, who appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Mwanamkuu Sudi, admitted the charges but stated that the bhang was Ksh 300.

“I admit the charges but I am correcting that the bhang was worth Ksh 300 since most of it is chuff,” said the accused.

The court granted him a cash bill of Ksh 20,000 with an alternative bond of Ksh 30,000 with a surety of the same.

The case will be heard on September 8th.
