Mwamba RFC Ladies successfully defended their Kabeberi 7s title, beating Kenya Harlequin Queens 12-7 in the women's final at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi on Sunday.

The hosts went into the final looking to retain the trophy on home ground after a strong run through the tournament.

Kenya Harlequin pushed Mwamba all the way, but the defending champions held their nerve to secure the win and another title in the National Sevens Circuit.

The Kabeberi 7s, the third round of the 2026 National Sevens Circuit, was held on August 15 and 16 at the RFUEA Grounds.

The tournament brought together eight women's teams. Mwamba were drawn in Pool A alongside Impala Roans, NYS Ladies and Jackals Women, while Kenya Harlequin competed in Pool B with Northern Suburbs, Kiambaa Ladies and Shamberere Viqueens.

Mwamba arrived at the tournament full of confidence after winning the Dala 7s in Kisumu earlier this month, and the Kabeberi victory gives them another important result as the National Sevens Circuit continues.

The win also piles pressure on the rest of the women's sides, who will be fighting for points and honours as the circuit heads into its remaining legs.
