Muslim leaders urge Kenyans to lead in war against terrorism

Muslim leaders in Kakamega County have appealed to the residents to cooperate with police in curbing terrorism in the country.

Speaking Thursday evening when he delivered relief food to Muslim faithful, Kakamega Deputy County Commissioner, Hassan Noor, insisted that terrorism remains a big threat to the country, urging the public to share any pertinent information that can help police nab terrorists.

The commissioner, who was in the company of other Kakamega Muslim leaders, stressed that the cooperation between the police and the public is key in fighting terrorism, adding that parents who suspect their children are involved in such acts should hastily report them to the relevant authorities.

On his side, the County Chairman of Imams, Sheikh Idris Mohammed, urged Muslim leaders to preach peace and values to young people, as an antidote against radicalization.
