The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Kipchumba Murkomen, has called for a quick resolution to the ongoing police recruitment stalemate so that the suspended exercise can resume immediately.

Speaking in Elgeyo Marakwet County on Saturday, Murkomen urged those who had taken the matter to court to find an amicable solution to avoid further delays in the recruitment process.

He also cautioned against corruption and bribery, warning that both police officers and parents involved in offering or receiving bribes to secure recruitment slots will face arrest and prosecution.

The Employment and Labour Relations Court on Thursday stopped the police recruitment exercise pending the hearing and determination of a petition challenging the process.

Lady Justice Hellen Wasilwa issued interim conservatory orders suspending the recruitment following an application filed on September 30, 2025.

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) advertised the recruitment of 10,000 police officers on September 19, 2025, following a long-standing standoff with the National Police Service (NPS).
