Speaking to the press on Monday, CS Murkomen said that a probe has been launched to determine the circumstances under which the four lost their lives, vowing to bring those involved to book.
He alleged that the protests were infiltrated by goons sponsored by unidentified politicians to take advantage of the national upheaval.
"It is regrettable that there are politicians who measure the success of opposition to the government by number of lives lost in demonstrations they organise," he said.
"This is the lowest form of politics and most wicked manifestation of self interest."
The Interior CS added that amid the mayhem, 348 arrests were made and they will face relevant charges in court.
He added that the looting of businesses and destruction of property will also be dealt firmly under the law, vowing to apprehend those involved.
"Burning of vehicles is not associated with protesters , those who burn vehicles must be called out as criminals," he said.
CS Murkomen has said that most roads that remained blocked for most part of the day have now been opened, assuring motorists of their safety.
Meanwhile, most Kenyans were forced to walk to work due to a strike from the public transport operators and some schools remained closed.
The operators have maintained they will keep their vehicles off the roads until their demands to lower fuel prices have been met.
