Murkomen declares Monday a public holiday

Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS)
Kipchumba Murkomen has declared Monday, 31st March 2025, a public holiday to
mark the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Murkomen made the announcement
through a gazette notice on Friday.
“It is notified for the general
information of the public that, in exercise of the powers conferred by section
2 (1) of the Public Holidays Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National
Administration declares that Monday, the 31st March, 2025, shall be a public
holiday to mark Idd-ul-Fitr,” the notice reads.
Eid-ul-Fitr, which means
"Festival of Breaking the Fast," is one of the most significant
holidays in the Islamic calendar.
It marks the end of Ramadan, a
month of fasting, prayer, and reflection observed by Muslims worldwide.
