Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria has denied a report released by the anti-graft agency ranking his county as the most corrupt.

The report that saw Murang’a county deemed the most corrupt of its kind in Kenya, was released yesterday on March 27 2018 by the ethical body.

In a special interview with Radio Citizen,  the governor heaped praise on the commission beforehand, congratulating their efforts but later criticized the EACC saying that their report  was too general and vague in their report .

Governor Mwangi wa Iria, has stated that the said report is  not up to date for it shows the situation as was in the year 2006, twelve years ago.

He further said that the period was a volatile one, being an election season and various politicians, in the heat of the moment badmouthed each other intent to gunner more votes for themselves.

He said that the county government was not specifically mentioned, but the County of Murang’a alone, which by itself has various departments with different heads in charge.
