Speaking during a church service in Nandi county, Mudavadi warned against what he termed as gambling with the leadership of the country, saying the new political formations, like Linda Mwananchi, cannot guarantee good leadership.
"We should not second-guess the destiny of our country. We cannot just wake up and start gambling with the leadership of the country," Mudavadi said, apparently targeting Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
The Prime CS said some people have just woken up six months to the IEBC deadline and formed political parties, and now think they can go for the country's top seat.
"There are people who have formed political parties six months to the IEBC deadline, and are now wandering around without structures, framework and agenda. So let's not second-guess on the leadership of the country," he warned.
Mudavadi said for one to become a leader of the country, they need experience and longevity in politics and leadership, building gradually over time.
This comes after Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna unveiled his political party, The Equitable Party, which he has since rebranded to Linda Mwananchi Movement, and now eyeing the presidency.
Sifuna has seen his political star rise steadily since being kicked out as ODM Secretary General. He is among the opposition leaders seeking to unseat President Ruto in the 2027 election.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro also unveiled his People's Party of Kenya (PPK), and is now in the conversation as one of the presidential hopefuls.
