Multi-agency recovery teams have returned to the rugged terrain of Mt Ololokwe in Samburu County following a devastating helicopter crash that claimed the lives of several high-profile individuals.

The victims include Telemundo President and General Manager Jose Suarez and Ecuador’s Intelligence Chief.

So far, rescue workers have recovered four bodies from the wreckage. 

Three of the victims have been transported to the Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi. 

The body of the pilot has been taken to a mortuary facility in Nanyuki.

According to officials at the scene, the recovery operation remains highly complex. 

Three of the victims were completely burned and remained trapped within the charred wreckage of the aircraft. 

Emergency responders and security teams are currently combing through the crash site in an intensive effort to extricate and recover the remaining remains safely.

Police and forensic investigators have confirmed that autopsies on the recovered bodies are expected to be conducted on Friday. 

The postmortem examinations will be a critical part of the ongoing probe as authorities piece together the flight's final moments and determine what led to the tragedy.

Further updates from the civil aviation authorities and local security teams are expected as the recovery operation concludes.
