Kirinyaga Woman Representative and advocate Jane Njeri Maina has said she is following up on the alleged abduction of DCP blogger Justin Kinyua after reports emerged that he was seized by hooded gunmen on Tuesday.
In a statement, Maina said she was working with Senator Kamau Murango and Mathenge to establish Kinyua's whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding the reported incident.
According to the statement, Kinyua was allegedly abducted by hooded gunmen and driven to an unknown destination.
"The era of political intimidations is here with us, but we shall not relent. We shall stand by the Constitution and the young people of this great nation, whose right to free speech and political affiliation is protected by the Constitution," Maina said.
She added that the team was actively following up on the matter and promised to provide updates as more information becomes available.
The alleged abduction had not been independently verified at the time of publication, and there was no immediate statement from the police regarding the incident.
The claims come amid heightened political tensions, with opposition leaders expressing concern over what they describe as increasing cases of intimidation targeting political activists and supporters
