Mother and child swept away by floods in Kwale

The woman identified as Umazi Menza Kengo and her child Kachimbizi Mvurya Dalu met their death while trying to cross a swollen river.

They were reportedly heading back to their home after a church service.

Confirming the incident, area OCPD Fred Ombaka said that efforts to retrieve the bodies are underway.

The incident occurs a few days after 3 other children were said to have drowned in the same river and till now one body has not been retrieved.
