Morans from Westlands emerged champions of the inaugural Sirua Darts Challenger Cup, walking away with Sh 100,000 and the distinction of being the first ever winners of the prestigious tournament.
The final
showdown capped off an intense and highly competitive season, with Flying Hawks
from Embakasi putting up a strong challenge to secure second place and a reward
of Sh 70,000. APPA Estates from Thika claimed third position, earning KSh
50,000, while Oche Addicts rounded out the top four, taking home Sh 30,000.
The Challenge
Cup marked the culmination of a 12 week season under the Sirua Darts Circuit,
which brought together teams from two competitive tiers: the Elite League and
the Super Series League.
Speaking at the
event, Sirua Darts Director Dann Karori emphasized the importance of grassroots
development:
“It’s really for
teams at the grassroots level where they can start playing professionally and
discover more talent for Kenya. For now, it’s about ensuring we are covering
the whole country trying to get talent from every county if possible.”
The structured
approach addresses a long-standing gap in the sport, organized talent
identification and development at the grassroots level.
Momentum is
already building for Season Two, set to kick off in May. The upcoming season
will follow a similar 12 week league format, culminating once again in the
Challenger Cup.
The Sirua Darts
Circuit is rapidly positioning itself as a transformative force in Kenyan
darts. By introducing a league format, the organization has created a
sustainable pathway for teams to compete regularly, develop talent, and gain
national exposure.
