Mombasa: Cyclist killed in an accident in Mishomoroni

A man has died at the scene after being struck by a private garbage collection truck at Mishomoroni in Mombasa.

Witnesses say the deceased was cycling from the town centre in the same direction as the truck when he was hit at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The accident caused traffic congestion along the busy road. Police officers arrived at the scene. and kicked off investigations into the tragic incident.

The body was taken to the mortuary, while the truck driver was detained by police pending further investigations.
