MTRH releases some mothers, others still held over bills

A day after Citizen TV exposed the plight of mothers detained at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Uasin Gishu County, the hospital management has released a section of the affected mothers.

It remains unclear what criteria were used to determine who was released, as some mothers still detained at the facility decried favouritism.

This comes as a group of activists moved to court seeking orders to compel MTRH management to release all mothers detained over unpaid bills, some having spent months within the hospital.
