Residents of Mlolongo, Machackos County, lynched a peanut vendor who stabbed a resident to death for allegedly failing to pay for a packet of nuts worth Ksh10, which he ate.
The resident was stabbed in the neck and died on the spot.
The vendor attempted to flee, but was cornered by a mob and beaten to death at the site where he had left his victim.
Police arrived at the scene and took the bodies to City Mortuary.
According to Charles Chiande, a neighbour of the stabbing victim, the two knew each other and were friends before disagreeing on a separate matter.
"They seemed to be holding a grudge against each other," he said.
