Missing Nakuru woman found murdered after two-week search

Jackline Wangui Njoroge was last seen alive on the night of Friday, August 14, 2026, along Kanu Street in Nakuru town, according to a family relative, Michael Wambui.

Her family reported her disappearance at Bondeni Police Station and circulated digital posters seeking help from members of the public to trace her whereabouts.

The search ended tragically after her body was discovered at the quarry, showing signs of severe physical assault. The remains had begun decomposing and were reportedly found with injuries to the head and missing eyes and ears.

Police detectives from the Nakuru County Police Headquarters have launched a homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is expected to reconstruct Wangui's final movements and examine mobile phone records and other available leads to establish who she was in contact with before her disappearance.

Her body has been taken to the Annex Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a post-mortem examination to establish the cause and manner of death.

Police have appealed to anyone who may have information about Wangui's movements, particularly anyone with security footage from Kanu Street or the surrounding areas, to report to the nearest police station.

Wangui leaves behind three children.
