Divine Nshuti Muheto, Rwanda's 2022 beauty queen, was recently arrested for flouting the country's strict road safety policies. 

Known for her influence in the fashion industry, the 21-year-old was apprehended by authorities on Tuesday, October 29, for drunk driving and driving without a licence. 

Authorities stated that the former beauty pageant had damaged infrastructure before fleeing the scene. 

They added, "This is not the first time that she has been involved in such offenses."

She is expected to appear in court on Thursday, October 31, to answer for the charges. 

Divine rose to prominence in Rwanda’s pageant scene after winning the Miss Rwanda title in 2022, a victory that brought her national recognition. 

Her influence extends beyond Rwanda, captivating audiences worldwide with her beauty.

Rwanda is known for its strict traffic laws has over recent years, imposed hefty penalties for violations such as speeding and drunk driving. 

Under Rwandan law, drivers found under the influence face substantial fines, immediate license suspension, and even imprisonment.
