Chief Protus Wechuli, popularly known as "Misheveve", graced his retirement ceremony held in Saboti constituency, Trans Nzoia County on Saturday.

Wechuli was well known for his humor while performing his duties as a chief in Saboti location, as many of his videos went viral, showing his warm relationship with residents.

He was given the nickname, Misheveve, when he hilariously narrated how a son killed his mother after a tiff over the type of vegetable he would cook.

At the resplendent ceremony, he officially laid down his instruments of work in honor of his retirement, where he delivered his charming humor.

"Nilirudisha stapler, uniform, fimbo ya serikali ikanibakishia suruali peke yake ndio hii," he said.

"Misheveve ni very economical, inaiva haraka kuliko Sarat. Na misheveve inatembelea chini. Unaweza kufanyia usherati kwa misheveve kweli?"

Many of those in attendance could not help but whip out their mobile phones, capturing every quote to share on social media, where he has gained immense popularity.

Wechuli recounted how his journey to becoming a chief was not easy. He tried for several years until he finally got the position he so desired and has loved it for the last 18 years while in service.

Political leaders and administrative heads were also in attendance, showering him with praise and gifts in recognition of his distinguished performance.
