Speaking on behalf of the family, Jerry Otieno said the deceased was attacked on Thursday night at around 9 p.m. in Narok County while returning to Ogwedhi Trading Centre in Migori County.
Otieno said the incident was reported to police in Trans Mara Sub-county, but the family is yet to receive any updates on the investigation or the arrest of suspects.
"We want those responsible brought to justice. Since reporting the matter, no one has been arrested, and we are still waiting for answers," he said.
The killing has sparked concern among residents, who say insecurity along the Migori–Narok border is on the rise.
Ogwedhi village elder Daniel Okumu said many criminal incidents reported along the border are rarely investigated to their conclusion, leaving affected families without justice.
"It is unfortunate that most killings in this area remain unresolved. We need thorough investigations to end the cycle of violence," Okumu said.
Another resident, John Odera, called for closer collaboration between security agencies in Migori and Narok counties to ensure those behind the killings are arrested and prosecuted.
