A motion of impeachment against Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has been tabled at the County Assembly.

The motion was tabled by Majority Leader Evans Mawira on Tuesday on the floor of the House.

The first-term Governor who was elected on an independent ticket has been having challenges with the county assembly which has accused her of discrimination and misuse of public resources among other charges.

57 MCAs have already appended their signatures in support of the impeachment in an assembly that has 69 Members.

This is the second impeachment motion against the Governor who was impeached by the assembly in December 2022 and was saved by the Senate.
