Meru Dairy Union to host landmark Farmers’ Field Day

This year’s theme, “Innovative Dairy Farming: Embracing Technology for a Sustainable Future”, sets the tone for an event that promises to be bigger than ever.

More than 150 exhibitors will showcase cutting-edge solutions in dairy farming, agribusiness and value addition.

With an expected attendance of over 50,000 dairy farmers, the field day is poised to become a landmark occasion for knowledge exchange, networking and market linkages.

The field day will feature demonstrations on modern dairy practices, silage preparation, animal health, and milk processing technologies.

Farmers will also have the opportunity to interact with financial institutions, equipment suppliers, and agritech innovators, ensuring they leave with practical solutions to boost productivity and profitability.

Speaking ahead of the event, Meru Central Dairy Chief Executive Officer Mr Kenneth Gitonga emphasised the union’s commitment to empowering farmers through training, exposure to new technologies and partnerships that strengthen Kenya’s dairy sector.

On the same day, the new Meru Maziwa Millers Ltd animal feeds factory at Mituunguu will be commissioned, a milestone that will go a long way in providing farmers with affordable, high-quality feeds.

This development underscores the union’s commitment to strengthening livestock nutrition, reducing production costs, and enhancing sustainability across the dairy sector.
